Model SR Irrometer
General-use Irrometer for row, tree, and field crops.
The Model SR is the standard Irrometer for general use with irrigated row, tree, and fi eld crops, but can also be used in greenhouse and nursery applications or for monitoring Vadoze Zones. Features a tough Butyrate plastic body that is impervious to soil chemicals or electrolysis, a replaceable porous ceramic tip designed to give quick response to variations in soil moisture, and a hermetically sealed gauge that indicates soil suction from 0 to 100 centibars or kilopascals (gauge operates counter-clockwise). The gauge features a membrane vent for better temperature-related and elevation-related compensation, a 2.5˝ diameter face, and a rustproof stainless steel body. The replaceable ceramic tip is easy to service in the fi eld and is much stronger than conventional tips. A large reservoir with a screw cap for fi lling holds a reserve supply of water to replace water lost by the action of drying soil. Partial unscrewing of the cap releases air and refi lls the tube from the reservoir. All ceramic-to-plastic connections are guaranteed leakproof.
Irrometer fluid, supplied with the Service Unit accessory, adds color to the water for easy water level observation.
The Model SR Irrometer requires the Service Unit accessory and the Soil Coring Tool with the initial order.
